Behind the Scenes: Q&A with Videographer David Klotz

From cheerleaders dancing to the marching band performing to fans roaring, there's more to a football game than what's simply on the field.

David Klotz, one of the talented videographers for "One Family Two Sidelines," was behind the camera, capturing all of these dynamic moments that make high school football so special.

Sideline Entertainment (SE): What was your role in filming “One Family Two Sidelines”?

David Klotz (DK): I was responsible for obtaining great B-roll shots of the crowd, the bands and the fans.

SE: What first interested you in videography or photography?

DK: I have always enjoyed having a camera in my hands which went along with my love of travel. I really love it when I can get a perfect shot of people naturally and capture a moment that otherwise would have been forgotten or missed.

SE: Do you have any favorite moments or plays you filmed or photographed?

DK: One in particular was Plano East’s drumline circling up and holding the drummer upside down while he played. It was something I had never seen before and was a cool feat of athleticism and talent to bolster an exciting game.

SE: What do you do in your free time?

DK: Before becoming a father I enjoyed a myriad of hobbies including basketball, football, poker and video games of all stripes. Now most of my “free” time is spent playing with my little one.

SE: What else would you like people to know about you?

DK: I never would have envisioned myself doing any sort of professional camera work. I think it is important to try new things when opportunities present themselves because those opportunities allow us to grow in ways we never imagined and enrich our lives. I am so glad I was able to be a part of this wonderful team and project and look forward to seeing it brought to life.
